Jávea has a range of running terrain within a short distance — flat coastal road for any kind of running sessions (recovery, intervals), and Montgó Natural Park directly above the town for serious trail running.

Flat and road running

Seafront promenade — El Arenal to the port, approximately 3 km one way. Flat, paved, popular with runners in the early morning before tourist traffic builds. Good for easy runs and warm-ups.

Cap de Sant Antoni circuit — road loop around the northern headland. Rolling, low traffic, good views, usable for steady-state efforts.

Port area roads — flat, quiet in the off-season, useful for bricks coming off the swim.

Trail running

Montgó Natural Park rises to 753 m directly above the town. Technical singletrack, rocky, with significant elevation gain accessible from the edge of the urban area. Popular with trail runners and a serious training option for those doing mountain or off-road racing. Multiple access points from the Arenal and Pueblo zones.

Senda Litoral — coastal path connecting the main beaches. Works well for easy recovery runs with varied terrain underfoot (packed dirt, stone sections). Scenic without being demanding.

Track

There is no athletics track in Jávea. The nearest is in Dénia, approximately 12 km away. Worth the trip for track sessions — plan it as a dedicated workout rather than a warm-up add-on.
