Jávea has a range of running terrain within a short distance — flat coastal road for any kind of running sessions (recovery, intervals), and Montgó Natural Park directly above the town for serious trail running.

Road running

Seafront promenade — Between El Arenal to the port, approximately 3 km one way. Flat, paved, very popular with runners. In the summer go in the early morning to avoid the heat and more pedestrians. Good for all types of run - easy run, tempo, intervals.

Port and Montañar streets — flat, quiet in the off-season. Useful for brick runs coming off the swim, or to escape the direct sun and business of the seafront.

“Camís in the backyard of El Arenal — narrow agricultural roads with great tarmac and low traffic. Trees and bushes line some sections of the route, providing a much needed shadow in the summer.

Trail running

Jávea is surrounded by mountains and has great conditions for trail running.

I’m working on adding more detail and trail routes here.

Track

There is no athletics track in Jávea. The nearest is in Dénia, approximately 12 km away. Worth the trip for track sessions — plan it as a dedicated workout rather than a warm-up add-on.
